What do you do?

If a friend asked me what I do, I’d say that I help give people confidence in a company’s financial information. As an Audit Director, I lead teams that independently assess whether a company’s financial statements present a true and fair view of its financial performance and position. At the end of an audit, we provide an opinion to shareholders and other stakeholders – such as private equity investors, lenders and potential buyers – that the financial statements can be relied upon for decision-making. In simple terms, we provide independent assurance that the numbers aren’t just estimates or assumptions without evidence, but are supported by robust documentation and are materially accurate. Whether someone is investing in, lending to or doing business with a company, our work helps them make informed decisions with greater confidence.

WhY do you do IT?

I definitely didn’t set out to become an auditor! I originally wanted to be a fashion designer, but my parents encouraged me to pursue a more academic path, so I studied International Relations and Politics instead. After a short stint in Brussels, I realised politics wasn’t the right career for me. Around that time, a few people I really respected were training as Chartered Accountants, so I decided to explore audit. It turned out to be a great fit. I love solving complex problems, working with numbers and being surrounded by ambitious, kind and intelligent people. The variety of the role keeps me engaged – no two clients or challenges are the same. I joined Cooper Parry because its culture, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit stood out. What I love most about CP is the people – everyone is incredibly talented and driven, but equally approachable, genuine and fun to work with. There’s a real sense that you can be yourself, make an impact and help shape the future of the business, which makes it a truly special place to be.

WhAT KINDS OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?

From counting gun parts during a manufacturing stock count to advising on group restructurings, I’ve been fortunate to work on a wide range of projects across different industries and stages of business growth. I now specialise in working with private equity and venture capital-backed high-growth companies, supporting businesses as they scale, navigate complex transactions and make important strategic decisions. What I enjoy most about audit is that it goes far beyond checking numbers. The most rewarding part is helping clients see their business from a different perspective – bringing insights, challenging assumptions and uncovering opportunities or risks they may not have considered. Ultimately, we don’t just provide assurance over financial statements; we help clients better understand their business, strengthen their processes and make more informed decisions.

WhAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST? 

At the top of my bucket list is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I’m currently training for a HYROX race, and I love setting myself new challenges that push me outside my comfort zone. Every year, I set myself a goal and make sure I follow through. I strongly believe that achieving big things is a muscle – the more challenges you take on and the more risks you embrace, the more confident you become in tackling even bigger ones. For me, Kilimanjaro represents the next step in that journey. I’m starting with HYROX, then aiming higher – continuing to test my limits, experience something completely different and prove to myself that with commitment and determination, you can achieve things that once seemed out of reach.
