What do you do?

I work with businesses to provide confidence in their financial information and allow them to make better decisions. In simple terms, I manage audits and work closely with clients to understand how their business operates, ensure their financial reporting is accurate, and help identify areas where processes can be improved. The focus is not just on compliance, but on delivering insights that add value beyond the audit itself.

Why do you do it?

I’ve always had a strong interest in numbers and how businesses operate, so audit was a natural career choice from an early stage. What’s kept me in the profession is the variety and the level of challenge. No two clients are the same, and I enjoy understanding how different organisations work and contributing to improving them. There’s a real sense of satisfaction in bringing clarity to complex areas and helping clients feel confident in their position. Working at Cooper Parry has reinforced that, with a strong focus on doing things differently, embracing technology, and continually improving how we deliver for clients.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’ve worked with a broad range of clients, from growing owner-managed businesses to large groups and academy trusts. Key areas of focus include: – Leading audits for complex groups, ensuring a smooth process across multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines – Supporting academy trusts through growth, regulatory change, and evolving reporting requirements – Advising on new accounting standards, including lease accounting, helping clients understand the impact and implement practical solutions – Driving efficiency and innovation in audit delivery, reducing disruption and improving the overall experience for clients Across all of this, the aim is to deliver a process that is efficient, well-managed, and ultimately gives clients confidence and clarity.

What’s top of your bucket list?

A wild travel experience to somewhere truly remote, after catching the bug on a recent trip to Svalbard in the High Arctic. That trip really changed my perspective on travel – the landscapes, the isolation, and the sense of being somewhere completely different from everyday life. It’s made me want to explore more places that are a bit off the beaten track and offer a genuinely unique experience.
