What do you do?

I’m a qualified insolvency practitioner, so the team and I spend most of our time helping businesses or individuals, when things aren’t going to plan financially. That might mean helping them to restructure their debts, guiding directors through tough decisions, negotiating with stakeholders or managing formal insolvency processes (like Administration or Liquidation). We give clear practical advice and find the best way forward in what can be a very stressful situation.

I’m also a qualified solicitor.

Why do you do it?

I love being able to help people through what can be one of the most stressful times in business/life. It can be challenging but helping people find clarity when they need it most, finding solutions and giving people a fresh start is incredibly rewarding— whether that’s an individual, a company, creditor, or a director.

What type of Projects have you been involved with?

I’ve worked with companies across a wide range of sectors who’ve found themselves in financial difficulty — helping directors understand their options and guiding them through what can be an incredibly tough time. Our key focus is always trying to find a rescue solution to keep the business alive. When that’s not achievable, we support an orderly wind-down via a formal process— managing everything from employee matters and asset sales to fulfilling all the technical duties required under insolvency legislation.

I also have worked closely with lenders, advising on their security and options when businesses are in distress, and assisted clients who’ve been impacted by the collapse of a key supplier — helping them restructure and adapt so they can survive and move forward. Every situation is different, but I enjoy the challenge of finding the best outcome for everyone involved.

What’s on your bucket list?

I would have to say going to Nashville to experience the country music (cowboy boots optional, but likely). I’m also a huge fan of basically every musical going (and its maybe more pipe dream than bucket list) so starring in a West End musical!! Sadly for now, I think I’m more destined to spend my spare time centre stage in the kitchen negotiating tantrums with little people!!
