There had been a point where we genuinely questioned whether we’d reached the size and scale where we should move to a Big 4 firm. We haven’t needed to. Cooper Parry are more than capable of supporting a complex global operation.
From adapting working hours to support our US operations to delivering audits across multiple jurisdictions they’ve shown they have the capability and flexibility to meet our requirements. At the same time, we haven’t lost the personal relationships we’ve built over the years.
Unfortunately, compliance rules mean we can no longer use tax or accounting support services which we have done in previous years. The service the team provides is now restricted primarily to audit and assurance services.
This year’s audit timetable was particularly challenging but that was driven by our own acquisitions and wider corporate activity which meant our internal finance team simply didn’t have the bandwidth to close out the final tax and accounts preparation work needed for final accounts sign-off.
The Cooper Parry team completed the field work when agreed and worked around our priorities. They recognised and understood where our focus needed to be. That flexibility together with a team that listens and adapts to how we work is a big part of why we’ve continued to grow our relationship with them.”
