In particular the audit engagement manager is outstanding (Phoebe Hindhaugh). What can feel a stressful process feels enjoyable because everyone is organised and on the same page. As a point of improvement going forward for the last 2 years we have noticed a poor level of quality with the draft financials we have received for review – there have been many errors which we have had to spend a lot of time to resolve and work through many versions. We have shared this feedback and Phoebe has agreed to review the draft financials ahead of these coming to us for our review going forward but would suggest a process improvement is to have a dedicated senior person reviewing them ahead of the financials going to the audit team or the client. Having worked with other firms both small and big 4 the quality of the first draft of financials that have come across to us for review have been very sub-standard eg errors in the audit reports and prior year numbers not matching signed accounts and many more. This is really the only point that has let the overall service down in the last few years. If it was not for this I would be rating an overall 10!”
